Can anyone recomend a good quality site on the Isle of Wight, we will be using a trailer tent and are more bothered about good quality than quantity of facilities.

The caravan club magazine always has lots of ads in on sites there. We got a 5 night site and crossing for £125 last August for the 4 of us. Stayed at Whitecliffe Bay. It was okay and I'd go back but I'm sure there are nicer sites around. The tents and vans where accross a busy road from the pool and entertainments etc, not ideal with kids for us. The club was okay and kids liked the entertainment and competitions etc. indoor pool was great, slides etc, outdoor pool far to cold to use though even in summer. The beach is right off the site and is a nice bay, access quite steep though so you need to be fit. All round a good site if you want the holiday atmosphere but if you want a relaxing camping break stay at another site.

ps the camping field was fairly quiet and relaxed and the loos showers fine

We stayed at the Orchards, they do packages with ferry crossing if it suits you.  CC members get a discount.
