Going to the Scilly Isles in August, staying at Garrison camp site. Any advice on getting kit there and places to visit ,  best beaches  and walks would be great.

going on the Scillonian?

they will take your kit and off load it on the harbour. (may be a few sheckles extra to get it there?)

The Garrison is not far, but it is all up hill and you may need to use a taxi! rather than walk back and forth to the camp site.

Get yourself an Island map from one of the shops for the walks - you can walk around the whole Island in a day.

Best beach? I always enjoyed Old Town.

Yeh, it's a flat bottomed boat and it can be choppy.

Great islands, had a timeshare on Tresco for a number of years. Each Island is different and must be visited.Garrison is close town Co-op and a number of independant shops. Beaches hard to select a favorite, and are normally empty.

Gorgeous place, haven't been for a while but we made a point of not eating on our trip there and although we were unlucky with the weather we were all fine.

We didn't camp but my friends did - gig rowing world championships - and it was fantastic.
