To be honest I think it will depend how your pregnancy goes. With my first baby I probably could have gone camping, although the whole toilet thing would have been a nightmare as the babys head was down so low by then that I was up every couple of hours all night. Also getting on and off a campbed would have been a bit tricky. I was that big that I wouldn't have been able to help put the tent up or down either!!
With my third baby however I had such bad back pain that I could barely move in the last 3-4 weeks of pregnancy. The thought of going camping.....<shudder>
You also have to consider the pitching and sorting out of all the stuff, will you have enough help so you won't have to do any fetching and carrying and so on?
Sorry to sound so negative, but as I said until you get that far along in your pregnancy, you have no idea what will happen or how you will be feeling. From 37 weeks your baby could arrive at any moment anyway!
I think that if you were me, I'd hang fire, not book anything and wait until nearer the time. If I was going somewhere near enough to home to not matter if baby came early, was going to have enough help so I could just rest AND my midwife said I was fit enough to go, then I might go.

I'd give it a miss personally.
I did camp two weeks after having my third baby and it was fine, (milk on tap) and I felt great.
BUT I think that babies can be early, and lets face it you need to feel safe and rested to have a baby.
Stay at home and relax as much as possible, you'll be glad of the energy when the baby finally arrives!
Best of luck, and enjoy being a Mum it's just such a wonderful and precious time, savour it, and look after yourself.

I would book, but a very local campsite with very easy access to whatever birth centre you`re booked into, and good roads. You can always cancel nearer the time if your health didctates otherwise, after all.
Also your OH is going to have to do ALL the work. Pitching a tent and organising all the kit is harder work than you might think. As Amanda says, you don`t want to tire yourself out. But on the other hand a few nice days relaxing never hurt anyone. Can you do this, do you think?
i was a little worried my son and his partner,came to trevornick last year, they had no hook up just ten eat etc eith us, beginning of august for 2 weeks, and being my first granchild due 16th september,(he eventually came late 26th) she was fine, slept better on the blown up air beds the big spring ones and on top of that one she put the old fashioned air beds we had the material ones and she slept well, she just rested so was prob better resting there than at home, and didn't sleep well when she returned to a proper bed!!!
enjoyed the swimming pool. only thing to watch is the heat and sun on feet, her feet did swell abit but we contolled that, take your bag and notes and know where the hospital is. good luck,just be sensible and not over do it,
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
As a midwife I would say if you do decide to go make sure you are well prepared.Take your bag and notes and ensure the site you pick has telephone access (any time of day/night) as you can't rely on having a mobile signal- and if you don't have an EHU may not be able to recharge a mobile if you are planning on going for a few days.If you go to a site that is not local to you then ensure you have contact details of the nearest maternity unit and plan your route there.As already posted you will need lots of help with sorting the tent/equipment, but if you have got that covered and are feeling fit and well then you may have a great relaxing break before the busy but lovely time ahead. Check with your midwife who should know your circumstances before you decice - and good luck.

my daughter was camping right up to may 31st last year at devon, her baby was due 9 th june, she just took her hospital bag and notes with her and printed of where the local hospital was from the campsite
