Interested in this site but there have been no reviews since 2003. Has anybody been recently as thinking of booking August Bank hoiday? Thanks.

this site was taken over last year, up until then the previous site owners had asked that no reviews be printed.

I havent been since its been taken over, but its not a bad site, got a small swimming pool, toilets and showers were always spotlessly clean, showers used to be on a meter but i think thats changed now.  The pitches are ok, but in wet weather its extremely boggy, but again, i dont know if extra drainage has been put in place.  There used to be a lot of seasonals , i know a lot of people left when it was taken over as the price went up considerably, so i dont know if you would be put in with the seasonals now or not.

not much help am i !!

anyway, its very handy for the tissington trail on bikes, etc and only 5 mins from ashbourne by car.

hopefully someone who has stayed there recently will be along, sorry thats all i can help you with

Thanks will bear in mind. Tried to get in at Rivendale (been before nice site) but limited spaces for August bank holiday

We've booked for a different area Orchard Park, Nottingham. Went on the reviews in the camp site search.

Hi there

We stayed on this site half term June 2006 and we had a lovely 3 days. No complaints about the site at all. The kids loved it.

I haven't been to Orchard park in Nottingham but Sherwood Forest is also a good site.

Just had a look at Highfields and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how much it was. We went here a couple of years ago and it was a good reasonably priced site, but wooooooooooow how much now?????

I don't just think it's them though because a lot of sites seem to be being greedy, they know how popular caravanning has got, and even in march we have had to pay £18 per night for a site this year which I think is a lot.
