We have just spent may day weekend at Gallaber park, Beautiful Site really big pitches for tents and caravans, only two things spoilt it for us one was the toilets and showers were a bit of a walk away if you wanted to go in the night, could do with a loo on the lower level, also whilst ladies and children were in the toilets or showers there was a man cleaning them that should not be allowed, they should close the toilets whilst cleaning, but on the whole was a nice site, lovely lady in the office

I think you are right that they should have shut the ladies toilets whilst they were being cleaned by a man but I think you may be stretching things to say they are a bit of a walk. The whole site only has around 60 (huge) pitches and even when we have pitched at the far end of the lower field it only takes a couple of minutes to walk to the toilet block. Also, they have to be the best toilets/showers I have ever encountered. Free hot showers, under floor heating, regularly cleaned and swipe card entry system. I have recommended this site to loads of friends. Also, a 2 minute drive will take you to Long Preston where The Maypole pub does wonderful food.
We enjoyed this site when we stayed on it a couple of years ago but we are reluctant to go back because of a large group of families together were camped opposite us, they turned their pitches into the ok corral with windbreaks and gazebos connecting them all and then drank from 3pm until midnight when they decided it was a good time to get the Kariokee machine out. Not the sites or the owners fault I know but it does make you think again about going back.
The facilities I found were excellent but, as is typical with most sites they are sited in the caravanning area where they are needed least and not in the tenting area where they are needed most, and although not a great distance they were a fair walk if you had a problem with the steep wooden steps up the bank or didnt fancy using them in the dark. Another thumbs up for the food in the village pub as well. Excellent.

If you have a problem with a guy cleaning the toilets, you`d love Karagreen in Devon on the way down to Hope Cove,my wife and I nicknamed him Tommy Toilets ?.
We went to Gallaber park last year, I thought it was lovely.
I dont have a problem with the men cleaning the toilets.....let them get stuck in I say!!!
as long as you go in and lock your door shouldnt be a problem.
we got stuck on the field as it was autumn time and it was muddy, we too were i nthe bottom half....but a seasonal tourer helped us out, we only went for a weekend as hubby had a bird of prey day at coniston hotel
I couldnt fault it to be honest, park was nice, facilities were nice, pubs up road.....not that we bother anyway!!
but yeah loved it.
------------- As one door closes another one opens.. sometimes you need to spend a little time in the room thats all..
Do whats right and right will become of you ;-) Nichola xx
We stayed here last year for two nights, one of the best sites we have been on. The toilets and showers were absolutely spotless.(Shame more site facilities are not like this)!! The lady in the reception area was very welcoming and happy to give us advise on local things to do. We had no noise either day or night was heaven. Highly recommend it.
