Hi all,

I'm new to the site, I basically joined up as I'm looking for somewhere in the UK (England or Wales preferably) to go camping.

I'd like to go to a forest, somewhere where you can just trek off in to the woods and set up a few tents, have a little camp fire etc.

There would be a group of us. We are all 30+ and know to be responsible in woodland etc. We also have 2 dogs, so it would have to be okay to take them.

Any help, greatly appreciated.

hi and welcome to ukcs!! Wareham forest has woodland camping - not sure re fires though but you could check - you can find the site via the campsite search facility at the top....have fun!!

this one is on exmoor.  I cant remember whether you can actually pitch in the woods, however the site is in a lovely wooded valley and you can collect firewood from all around the site to use.  open fires permitted.
