I don't know what sort of fishing you want, pond, river etc, but Naburn Lock HERE looks nice. We've not tried it yet but have friends that have stayed there and really enjoyed it.
We called on our way back from another site and asked to look around, the owners were really friendly, and the site looked nice, the toilets passed my wifes clean test, we've just not had a chance to go.
The river Ouse flows past the end of the road with fishing, and they definately allow kids.

Allerthorpe Lakeland Park is setting up a caravanning area - and offers lots of water sport options, don't know when campsite is operational from tho.
There are several sites within about 10 miles of it that have lakes.

But it´s all right now, I learned my lesson well.
