Has anyone been to Sunny Lyn recently?

Last review was July last year

We're going in the summer!

Yes it is one of the best sites i have been to.Lovely area and lots to do.The cafe is lovely for brekkie if you dont want to cook and a nice pub just outside the campsite. The river is safe for kids to paddle in when low.Recomend valley of the rocks to visit and theres a lovely drive out to the Doone Valley and Lynton itself is lovely. There is a museum about the flood. The Tarka trail goes through the Valley of the rocks.Hope you have a great time we will certainly go again.

This site is in a very pretty setting.  I stayed for a couple of nights last year. The river was quite fast-flowing I was there, the sound of it takes some getting used to at night because it's very close to the pitches.  Due to the river, if you have very young children you would need to keep an eye on them.  Other than that, it's a nice site, there are ample toilets and showers, a shop and cafe.  Pitches are level but not huge - I struggled to keep my guy ropes away from neighbouring tents.  As Margie & Paul say, there's a pub right next door, or Lynton is just a 10 minute walk away (there's a shortcut along footpaths).  If you enjoy walking, the coastal path is fantastic, and the Valley of the Rocks well worth a visit.
