I know it's short notice.......does anyone know of a campsite which will allow just 2 nights over the BH wkend? My hubby works Sat mornings so we cannot go until around 11 ish. I know most sites are min 3 night stay. We live in Wigan and will travel 2 hours so Staffs/ Lakes/ Derbyshire/Yorkshire all fine. We have 2 children so adult only sites are no good and our tent is a fairly large dome.
Any advice will be gratefully received.
Thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
i couldnt find any campsite which only does 2 nights over the bank holiday after hours n hours n hours of searching!Gave it up as a bad job n going the weeknd afer instead. Its a total sickener because not everybody can get away on the fri nite too.bit unfair i think!
Have you tried Park Coppice Caravan Club in the Lakes at Coniston.....site they don't have any restriction...... you don't need to be amember and if in a tent they dont charge you the extra non member fee. Is it this weekend you wanted to go as if so I'll look on the site and see what they have left or give them a ring as sometimes they have pitches even when it says full on line...... or you could try the C & CC.
The other site in Caravan Club that allow tents are Chester, Rowntree Park at york, Knaresborough, Great Yorkshire showground at HarrogateLower Wensleydale at Leyburn, Thirsk Racecourse, Kielder water, Grin Low at Buxton. Hope this is of some help.

What I know some sites are doing is still charging for 3 nights, but allowing Sat-Tues. Although this may not seem that good a deal if you're back at work Tuesday morning, it can allow you to spend most of Monday at the site, rather than being herded off at 11am or so.
That is my reason for choosing a Caravan Club site you can book whatever night you want and on the monday if the site isn't fully booked for the tuesday ask the wardens if it is possible to stop abit longer this is poss.
Th National trust sites don't take bookings so you could ring them on a Saturday morning and see if there is still room.. also Fisherground in Eskdale do not take bookings.

No, I tried all of the sites suggested above and had no luck. Fisherground was mentioned and they don't take bookings but it's quite a way (and over a scary mountain) to get there and find they are full so I've decided to admit defeat and plan to go next weekend instead.
Once again, thanks for all your replies.
Happy Bank Holiday weekend to anyone who has been lucky enough to get in somewhere.
Why not get up early sat and ring around its surprising how many people do not turn up after booking BH weekends early then if the weather is wet or commitment do not allow just cancel but not always letting the site know. Its really rude but might work to your advantage as the forecast is not brill
