Has anyone visited the caravan club site at Start Bay?  I can't find any reviews on it anywhere other than their own website!  Thanks.

I'm going there in a fortnight back about 23rd June. If it's any use to you I will post information about it when I get back.  It's a CC site and I have no doubts at all about going to it, they are all of a high standard and all have plenty of room. The only CC site that I have not been happy with in the 15 years of spending nearly 10 weeks a year using them was The Minnows site at Tiverton which is Managed under contract site and is situated directly on a busy roundabout not very far from the M5. We found that one noisy so we left.

Thanks - we are not going there until July, so it would be great to hear what you thought of it (and if you have any nearby pub meal recommendations!)  Happy holidays.

The site is very nice, it had some pretty major works done last winter, and it is very busy which says it all!

There are two great pubs within walking distance, the Church House at Stokenham, and one at Torcross, the Start Bay Inn - its the Thatched one, which is pretty much food led but is famous for fish n chips.

There is another little pub in Stokenham - the Tradesmans - which is very nice but tucked away. Cricket Inn at Beesands is worth a visit as well.

Be aware that the road outside is pitch black at night so do take a couple of torchs, I think the club organised a footpath through adjacent fields which is the better option.

Hope you have a good stay.

Pete.

Actually, reading that makes me sound like I have a drink problem!
