We want to do first trip of the year this weekend, leaving Bolton 5pm Friday, and are looking for a site within 1 hour north (ie accessible by but not too close to M6 Preston-Lancaster area OR M65 corridor and north).
Have tried C&CC at Clitheroe but have left it too late, and now panic mode is setting in as I like to know where we're going!!
2 adults with tent, don't need EHU this weekend and nothing too commercial, just a bit of peace and quiet with a loo!
Any suggestions gratefully received!!!

oh, should also note, have tried the campsite search but the area we are looking in is quite vast with a lot of sites that don't seem to get reviewed too frequently, so have not come up with much!
Gibralter Farm at Silverdale nr Carnforth is basic, but a beautiful area, woods, beach (sinking sand), cliffs, village 1 mile away, farm site. Worth a look, have a nice weekend, hope the weather is kind.
We were at Three Rivers Farm Nr. Clitheroe last weekend, toilets nice and clean and has the biggest showers I have seen. Site is pleasant enough in a quiet location, has a clubhouse and shop. We got in OK with just two days notice.
How about Try Red Bank Farm in Bolton Le Sands, near Carnforth/Morecambe. Check their website http:////www.redbankfarm.co.uk and reviews on here. Owner is really friendly and very helpful.
