We are looking at going to Devon in a couple of weeks just for a few nights and would like somewhere quiet and tranquil with some walks and a on-site shop! We wanted to stay at Ross Park but they are full, so we tried Dornafield but £23 a night for 2 peeps in a tent seems a bit pricy! I have just sent a e-mail to Whitehill Country Park, can anyone reccommend this or any other site?
Cheers

We are going to Hidden Valley Park nr ILfracombe in 3 weeks, all the reviews on ukcs are good the only downside i can see you can hear traffic, apparently it,s not really a problem otherwise the site is quiet with loads of wildlife (sorry i can,t do the link)
We,ve paid £15 a night with hook up on every pitch
We have thought about that site before. Just a bit further than we were thinking. We would prefer to stick with south devon.
Thanks anyway

Although Dornafield is expensive it is well worth it. The toilets are the best I have ever come across and it is lovely and quiet. There is a pub within walking distance and not much else except the countryside.

Here's our favourite quiet site. Unfortunately no on-site shop unless you're there in high season, but there is a co-op minimarket at the petrol station less than a mile away which sells everything you could want. Fabulous coastal walks, especially from Bolberry Down. Very friendly site.
Can highly recommend Little Cotton campsite in Dartmouth. Beatifully situated at the top of the hill right next to the park and ride where you can get the bus into picturesque Dartmouth. The site is very well kept by owners Paul and Dorothy White, it is tranquil with a shop and has the best cleanest toilets and showers of any site I have ever stayed at.
Thanks for all your comments. We went to Woodland Springs last year, and went to Little Cotton at Easter. I sometimes work near Salcombe Regis, so wanted to avoid, otherwise i can see myself thinking about work!!!!
We are thinking about Whitehill Country Park, can anyone comment on this one?

Hello fellow Yeovilian! Not been to that one I am afraid but we use this site. No on site shop but garage 5 min walk away and Chudleigh about 2 miles. Easy access to the moors, English Riveria, Exeter and Plymouth. The site is spotless, very few children and the loos immaculate at all times.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
