Can any body reccomend any good family sites. We are a family of five 3kids, 2 adults. We like the lake distrisct but could do with a childrens play area. I was also thinking of somwhere by the sea may be yorkshire as the children could do with a beach holiday, they dont feel as though theyve been on holiday unless they have seen the sea and had a paddle.

Try Flower of May. kids entertainment every night, a swimming pool and a nice beach 2 miles away at Filey or a short walk from the site down to the local beach. Very child friendly site and a nice chippy.
I can second flower of may at scarborough just been for the weekend and still as good as ever. If you want electric hook up the pitches are 6m x 6m, if not the paddock takes larger tents.
We had the most perfect weekend ever. The site is next to a shallow pebbly river and it is full of kids paddling and fishing and boating (there's a shop there that sells ice cream and fishing nets and boats)
It is a little piece of heaven on earth especially early in the morning and later in the evening once all the locals have gone home!! Can get busy but loads for the kids to do - there is a large field for ball games and a playarea as well.
By the way the third image in my profile pictures is of the river with hubby pulling the kids in the boat one of their friends we met there had bought.

Hi Hannah 16,
We just come back from a week at Filey Brigg (can't do links, sorry) its in UKCS directory. Its a country park. I have to say we really enjoyed it. Its on the cliff tops with beautiful views. Also a short walk to the beach down the path or a little longer through Filey town but still thats not much longer.
Theres a play area for children but ours played forever in the games field. Its a huge site but its very quiet & not much to do, but just relax!!
I would recommend it & will be going back.
Hi we have been Robin Hoods Bay in Whitby to the above a couple of times and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The campsite is on a slope but if you get on the frot row on the bottom of the field you wont notice it. Within walking distance you have pubs, shops, chippy and a lovelly little beach.
Its a relative cheap site, no play area but a field full of cows in front of you and the best views I have ever seen.
P.s We are going to the Flower of May for August bank hol as its very reccomended.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
