I fancy camping at or near the Lizard in Cornwall with my young familiy at the start of the summer hols. I love campsites with sea views so I quite fancy the look of "Henrys, The Lizard and Namparra, Kuggar" Campsites for our outwell sun valley 8 tent for 2 weeks. BUT these don't have reviews!!!
Anyone with inside knowlege? or other recommendations?
Cheers Jon.

Try Chy Carne, it's at the top of the hill from Kennack Sands, we have stayed there often, the tent field is in a lovely position, with views to the sea.

We stayed at Kenneggy Cove north west of Lizard in 2004. Lovely site with sea views if you get the right pitch. Walk to beach too, although it's only for the able bodied - there's a rope down to the beach... see other reviews for more details!
Silver Sands at Kuggar is very nice. There is a lovely walk down to the beach and coast path, and it's not far to drive down to the most southerly point. The coast path around the Lizard is awe-inspiring, and last year for certain you could park free there.
Just came back from the Lizard yesterday... lovely place, but we were really unlucky with the weather - rained 3 days out of 5 - had to pack up when the trailer tent canvas was saturated and started to leak badly! A week earlier & we would have been fine...
Anyway Henry's was great. Looks a bit of a junkyard when you turn up, but the pitches are quite private and sectioned off & the site has beautiful views. There is some work going on repairing the barn, so bits of the site were a bit untidy.
The camping areas were very well maintained though & people gardening almost every day in-between the showers.
Off-camp there is great walking when the weather is good & towns like Falmouth & Penzance you can try when it isn't. St Ives is a bit of a nightmare these days though - you can't get near it by car & parking on the edge of town was about £5 per day. Couldn't find a space anyway so took out business elsewhere...(shame coz I really wanted to visit!)

For St Ives the very best thing is to park at a station up the railway line a bit and get the train in - it is one of the most beautiful train rides going and the station is an easy walk to the harbour - much less stressful! J

Thanks for that tip J, I'll definitely be looking into doing that when we head down there this summer! I remember ending up just driving round and round St Ives and then leaving, a few years back too... Hopefully never again!
