Going to a concert at Sherwood pines, Nottingham at the end of the month and even though we live quite nearby we thought as we're child free thought we might like to camp nearby. Because it'll be quite late and we'll both have had a bit to drink we need a campsite not too far away.
I know there is a pub nearby that allows camping for these concerts but not sure which one it is - can anybody help with suggestions.

We are at sherwood campsite that weekend...are you going to see Travis or James Morrison???
I know that the campers going to the concerts are being put in the overflow field just by the entrance...it was almost full when we booked a few months ago...but then we did require 5 pitches together...
Fingers crossed the weather will change...enjoy your concert..
Going to see Travis - can't wait although nothing can beat Madness there last year. that was really surreal - masses of people of all ages dancing like maniacs in the woods. Best night ever. I think Travis will be a lot calmer.
Which concert are you going to then?
Is Sherwood Campsite within staggering distance? ( I will have a look later but feeling lazy right now) I'll have had a drink and also broke two toes last week so struggling to walk at the moment
We aren't going to either concerts...we go away with friends every year and it just happens that 2 concerts are on the same weekend...we'll be listening!!!!
As for madness....when we booked we were asked if we were going to either concerts cos apparently they had trouble with people coming back from madness...
The site isn't really walking distance...especially with 2 broken toes!!!!
cheers
Keren.

We are going to see James Morrison on Friday at Sherwood Pines - we have booked to stay at Sherwood Campsite. Do you know if it is an easy walk - or a taxi trip? Anyone know what the Dog & Duck pub is like - it's on the way?
I live in the area and know that the Dog and Duck have had a recent make over and is now quite an up market pub with good food (not your average pub meal) but you should book in advance.
The campsite I would say is about a good 15-20 mins walk away and some of its not got a walkway or path but to be honest it will be so busy at the end of the concert with people walking or driving and buses and taxis I think you will be safe as its expected. My friends went last year and decided to rent a mini bus, it took them an hour to get out of the car park and home (which is 10 mins away).
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
