Hi there - can I tap you all for information please?
With a seven year old whirlwind to keep occupied (and more importantly safe!) can you recommend campsites with good play areas that you are allowed to stay with a motorhome with a good clear view of the kids play area?
Down south we stay at South Lytchett Manor (which is ideal) but i'd love to know of simalar sites in East Anglia, Kent, Midlands, York and Cumbria areas too.
Thanks in advance.

manor farm, east runton nr. cromer has 2 great play areas, one on the hard standing field and one on the tent/caravan/motorhome field. if you ask them for an EHU near to the play area, i'm sure they'll oblige!
hi bysladestourinpark nr paignton south devon is a brill site for pitch nr to playpark could sit in your motor home right nr to it is also very close to the paignton zoo and the beaches and to torquay have a look on camp site search
With young children it is a good idea being able to easily see the play park from your pitch but being too close to it can mean you get the squeak squeak of a swing waking you up at 7am!
2 that spring to mind in the York(shire) area are West Ayton CC site, with a choice of around 10 - 15 pitches around the play area, and Ripley Caravan Park nr Harrogate.
We were at Ripley (again) this weekend and there were caravans and tents actually on the play area (braver than me) we were about 30 metres away.

Have just come back from a weekend with 9 other families. We stayed at Nethercourt Touring Park in Ramsgate. The site is small with a TV room, games room, very small shop/cafe, but has a play area run by the council just across the single track entrance to the site. You can see the play area from the whole campsite. It has swings, slides, etc on it and next to it a grassy area where you can play ball games. It is also only about a 5-10 minute drive from the coast. You may even be able to walk to the seafront. Highly recommended.
Wow - thanks for these great tips, I have made notes of all.
Just got back from a weekend at "Sandy Balls" in the new forest, they have recently invested 30K in two new kids parks and they were amazing. Recommend Pitch NF77 which was in a ledge looking down onto the two parks, really safe and great view, so we were able to sit outside with a glass of vino and keep an eye.
Thank you again for your suggestions.

The Plassey in Wreham would be ideal the pitches are all around the play area and we went with a friend of ours who also as a 7 yr old and a motorhome and she thought it was fantastic for the same reason as what you're looking for. Highly recommended.
