Would it be a good idea to enter on this post all the sites that we know are having problems with the wet weather and to give some idea of how many pitches are affected?
I'm sure a lot of us would be grateful to hear from anyone having been to an affected site in the last few days.

I would imagine Longnor wood to be o.k as it is high up there though when we were there a couple of years ago and it rained quite a lot some of the pitches were abit muddy. We were supposesd to be going next week to the cc site near Scarborough but I would doubt it now.

Derbyshire has had a lot of flooding but Im not sure if this includes Bakewell. If I were you I would go on the www.visitpeakdistrict.com website and look for more info.
I think it's a brilliant idea. Don't bother coming to South Yorkshire for a while & some places in North Yorkshire. York usually gets it bad with the River flooding. I know Pickering in North Yorkshire is particularly badly hit.
Thanks Janx and Jaynenbaby ( I`ll put that Peak District website in my favourites ),and from what Cockerspadgers says it looks like it`s going to be pretty grim in most places for a while. I think I`ll ring Longnor tomorrow and see if we can go the following week,it might just give everywhere a chance to dry out a bit. I hope the Bakewell Pudding shop hasn`t been flooded!
Don't forget that the people who could supply the sort of information required may not be in a position to provide that information - no electricity/no computer/can't get to computer/to busy with insurance claims etc etc.
I think this thread is a great idea but may heart goes out to all those affected and I hope their lives get back to normal as soon as possible.
