We usually camp in France and are used to the seperate pitches divided by hedges. Wondering if anyone has come across anything similar over here in Devon, Cornwall, Dorset, Somerset, or Wales. Perhaps its just us but went to Warren Farm, Brean last month and that was just big open fields. Is this the way most UK sites are?Nothing against open sites we just like a bit of privacy.

You could look at Tregarton Park in cornwell from memory of when looking to book it ourselves think some of their pitches could have hedges between them
Hiya page33, Have a look at Broadway House Cheddar, it has sections between pitches, however its a BIG site, with pool, Club House etc, not sure what you are looking for. Shirley
Warcombe Farm in N Devon has a variety of pitches - some in small areas with 10-12 pitches but also with lots of individual hedged pitches and you can book these specifically - can book online too.

They have regular pitches too (not hedged though) prices not too bad. The 'deluxe' ones are all inclusive of up to 5 people, lecci, day room or kitchen tent etc and are hedged. They even provide a dustbin, per pitch, which is emptied daily! They also have a fab bathroom block.
The pool at this site is superb, with stunning views of the beach (which is within walking distance, down a steep lane). There are excellent facilities for the kids, too, and lots of space. Downside (which, to us, is actually a plus) is that it is quite remotely situated, so a bit of a drive to the supermarkets.
We've stayed at Polmanter, which is nice too, but feels a little more crowded.
As with all things, it's a case of horses for courses, hence viewpoints are subjective, I realise.

Hendre Mynach, Barmouth (use search facility to find it) - North Wales have hedged pitching areas (2 pitches per section). Lovely site, great facilities and with easy walking into Barmouth itself.

Liddenham, OH really likes the look of Seaview and says we are going next May sod the cost!! Still works out cheaper than ferry and french site. You have sold it to me now too. We dont mind if it is a bit isolated. Can you ask for a certain pitch within the deluxe pitch area or are they all the same? How big would you say the pitches are?

We stayed at Trethem Mill last year, not far from St Mawes. They have little hedges around their lovely, well managed and very family friendly site. Not for every pitch, but for most. Good sized pitches, free always-hot water in the clean showers, no club/pub but a good childrens play area with big chunky wooden adventure stuff and a separate playing field for ball games. Plenty of quiet corners, though the central area is quite open. We loved it there and would recommend it. I think they may be switching to more serviced/hardstanding pitches which would be a shame for us tenters, but still a great site.
