Will be taking the wife and kids to Alton Towers in the near future,to save on travel and to make the most of the weekend i was wondering if anyone had any nearby sites they could recommend.

Are you looking to be able to walk to alton towers or drive from the site?

Ar really nice site with excellent facilities and only a 10 min drive from Alton Towers.

Now you have me thinking I may go this weekend

We stayed at The Star Campsite near Alton Towers. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=2046

About 5 min drive from Alton Towers. Nice site, although not very level. Good play area and few minuites walk from local pub.

By the way Alton Towers have a special offer on at present second day for just £5.

I have just booked two days for us (family of five) for £104. Bargain since it cost us £90 to go to Flamingo Land for one day.
