I wonder where these sites stand with regard to these large 4x4 pick up trucks which have cabs which can seat up to five people plus the driver. A great many of these are used commercially as well as privately.
I can see where the banning sites are coming from - we all know that not everyone belongs to the travelling community but that said, once they're on your ground they're christ's own job to evict, and when they have gone have you seen the mess they leave behind?
Most sites don't know you from a bar of soap, so the towing vehicle is the bench mark that they start from - it's not necessarily right but where else do you begin?

i had a little grumble as to why my van was the only one in the carpark and there were 7 other panel/commercial vans on the site, they eventually let me take the van on, easier to let me on than tell the others to get off.
i agree in the summer why they dont let them on, because they are too big.and two cars on a pitch is a bit much.

hello there, I think the main reason for the comercial vehicle rules are as suggested ie travellers!, sites along the North norfolk coast have had hell and all problems with them over the last couple of years so even though I personaly use a Nissan Navara I understand their problem, as I beleve it is illegal for them to state NO GYPSIES / TRAVELLERS etc.

why is it that a motohome can pull a car ?.large vehicle small one on one pitch.seems a bit biased to me.even the caravan club will accept our Tranny
I first saw this combination when I was in America some years ago. I must confess that I can't quite see the point of it. Why not buy a caravan and tow it with a decent car which you can use year round. Some would argue that they don't like the idea of towing a caravan but what's the difference?
What's more, with a motorhome and car, there's two lots of road tax and insurance and, being ridiculously PC, two lots of carbon footprints.LOL
