can anyone reccommend any good sites here off hand??

really appreciate it as theirs loads to trawl through & think its best hearing it first hand.......

What is it you have? a tent or caravan?

We have recently been to Hillside Caravan Park, Thirsk. Lovely new site with hard standing pitches and fully serviced. Large playing feild and good play area for kids. Pub about mile down the road, not really good for walking at night. Good pub though.

Another one we like is Cote Gyll, Osmotherly. Some nice walks, good play area for kids and nice walk to village with three pubs and a chippy. Was there at the weekend there was a summer fair in the village. Some of the pitches took a hammering from the rain and were a bit muddy.

Riverside Meadows (just outside of Ripon) is pretty good. I have put a review on this site about it http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=3641 so you can have a look and see for yourself.

Ripon itself is a lovely little place so is worth taking a trip there.

Hi, could try Golden Square nr Helmsley or Knight Stainforth nr Settle both v good.  Plenty other good sites  about but been to these most recently.

Hi, have you considered YCP York Caravan Park? (http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=6567)

It is within the York ring road, so close to York, but also has good access to the A64 towards the coast and moors.
