Does anyone have any ideas of where we can go, We live in Dorset a few miles from Bournemouth so anything a couple of hours from here. (Not Weymouth) Something near some se?, We love Rock pooling. Maybe with something to walk to? I'm even thinking Isle of Wight as a crossing from Southampton would be Easy Peasy.
Open to anything.
Any help greatly appreciated

Thankyou emvid1, that looks like a really lovely place. I love the way you can pitch around trees as opposed to a big open field. I'm a bit dissapointed to find how expensive ferry crossings are - But I guess we want to go peak time. Last weekend in July. Maybe we will go to the IOW low season.
Like emvid say do try varying times for the ferry crossing cost does vary.
We're actually going over Friday night at 7pm and coming back 9 nights later, mid afternoon on the Sunday... and despite paying two extra nights at campiste we still better off than travelling Sat - Sat.

We are going to the Roebeck campsite in the Isle of Wight just outside Ryde. They do a package deal for 3 nights, Tent pitch AND ferry crossing on 3rd August £84. Isn't that a bargain? and the reviews few though there are, are really positive - its seems simple unconvoluted and rustic (maybe thats just a way of saying basic ha) and they allow camp fires. Really sounds 'us'

But how about setting up Shelli? Isn't that quite late to be setting up camp we probably wouldn't get there till 9pm - Not sure if i'd manage it with 3 little ones. Mind you at least they would be exhausted and sleep well ha
Yes we will be setting up late, but have checked with site and they say thats fine. Must admit we've got the pitching down to fine art, so shouldn't take long. We'll just sort the bedding out, chuck rest in tent and sort it in the morning. Also our 4 are bit older, youngest is 8 now, so they can help rather than hinder.... well thats the plan!!!
Hopefully we can spend Saturday sorting tent getting some shopping, and ahving a swim but we'll be able to do so at relaxing pace!!!

A ha thats where I need to be.... youngest 8. But at the moment youngest is 14 months, middle one 2 and a half and eldest coming up 4. So they ARE a hinderence. I hope once they get the idea setting up will be much easier.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
