Hi

We are booked in on a site in Filey for this weekend but after ringing the site we may not be able to go as it may be too waterlogged

Does anyone know of any sites that have good drainage? My children are really excited about going away and so am I!!!  Prefer the east coast but will go anywhere!!

Any suggestions most welcome please

We stayed in Naburn Lock near York City on July 1 although one part of the site was flooded/overflowed we managed to pitch a tent in the rally field and it was fine.  There was about 10 other caravans too, the drainage was good.

Most sites will have problems with waterlooging as the water table is that high and the soil is at saturation point.What site are you going to on the east coast? as we are going there in August.

Only just up the road from Whitby is Runswick Bay:-

It can get waterlogged in some areas but should be ok in others. A nice site, not over comercialised but still within walking distance of the beach.  (Very steep back up hill though.)

wolds way has exellent drianage, the best ive ever seen on site! there is only a few inches of soil on top of loads of hardcore, plus its on top of a hill too. perfectly flat pitches too.

rock pegs and mallet will be needed though!

We've been on the C&CC site at Slingsby nr. Caste Howard for the last fortnight and it's fine.  Not coastal but loads of places to go within easy reach.

We were due to go on a rally to Naburn at the beginning of September but drove by it and it was under about 3 or 4 ft of water.  The site have actually now cancelled the rally.
