The Forestry Commission site is lovely. Until this year we've been there a couple of times a year and also over Christmas a couple of years ago. It's about 10 minute walk into the village where there are pubs and restaurants and a little supermarket (not to mention the ice cream parlour and the gift shop that sells gorgeous fudge!). You can walk through the forest, up the mountains, it's gorgeous.
The only thing is that they do tend to cram the tents in a bit at busy times like bank holidays but there are loads of different areas you can pitch, there are large areas but there are also all little areas in trees and whatnot as well.
Hi, haven't got any photos to share, but we went May Bank Holiday and really enjoyed the site. We ended up on a pitch near the childrens play area, but the pitches down near the river looked really nice (don't think they had EHU though if you need it).
Great site, can definitely recommend it - you won't be disappointed.
Just read the reviews for the Forest Holidays one and they're quite varied...
We normally go to 'Cae Du' which is the other side of Beddgelert (I say normally, we've only been once but planning on going again as soon as we can!), which is very well run but thought I'd check out the reviews of the Forest Holidays one as it might be nice for a change. Think I'll be sticking with Cae Du though!
I had a nice afternoon scone and cup of tea in Beddlegert last week.
Stayed in a cottage near Llanberis, so did a bit of driving about.
Was glad I wasn't in a tent :)
Great site- sorry no photos as stayed there years ago- but the midges are seriously annoying . Make sure you have lots of repellant, bite cream and anti-histamine tablets- otherwise you will be miserable.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
