I'm looking for a child friendly campsite close to the north east (within 1 and a half hours drive), that has a river that my boys can fish and paddle in. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Brompton-on-Swale is on the river Swale ! Runs through the site, has a pebble beach for paddling, plodging, fishing with nets etc. Needs supervision as its a fast river, but it is fun. Also have an okay play area for kids in the centre of the park. Popular with families, handy for Richmond (walking distance). Reviewed on the site search.
If you have a caravan, Ellerton Park near Scorton has fishing lakes and water sport stuff - never been as we have a tent and they arent allowed !
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
