We, two adults, two 11 year olds, would like to go camping for the odd night or two in the Summer hols, after work, so only max 2 hours away from home.
We live on Portland, Dorset and would appreciate any info on sites that fit this!!

we visited dorset last summer, made a change for us as usually go to the lakes or yorkshire, anyway we loved dorset and coming back soon - we stayed at the inside park at blandford - what a fantastic site!!....it gets busy, although you might be able to get the odd night or two..good luck
Hi Bundys, we live in Essex but love Devon and Dorset, too far to go after work over the bridge on the M25 in the rush hour traffic on a friday tea time (just for the weekend) but a few weeks ago we found a site called Downshay farm in Dorset, no need to book, 2 huge fields, magnificent views over Corfe Castle....no bars, pools, amusements, just peace and quiet
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
