As far as I know, and OH has been working down that way this week, Cornwall hasn,t really had the torrential rain that other folk are experiencing, so should be fine

Hi there, Cornwall has had quite a lot of rain but nothing like that i've seen on the news. No flooding but some very soggy ground! I don't know what the ground at Gorran Haven is like but if it's anything like the site I was on last week near Rock you may need to be prepared for it not to dry out much even when you get sunny days. We have had everything from blazing sunshine to hail (yes hail!!) recently.
Enjoy your holiday just remember the waterproofs and wellies. Debbie
We have just returned from Gorran Haven (Treveauge Farm). We got back on Friday - a day earlier than planned. The weather was not so good last week, and our site was beginning to get very muddy in places. Gorran haven is a stunning area, and we have returned year on year for the past 5 years and usually leave with a heavy heart, but this year, the weather got the better of us and we could not wait to get home.
Thank you for all the replies. We are booked to go to Treveague Farm and as the weather seems to have taken a turn for the better we are going to take our chances. "Muddy in places" would suggest that there are places where it isn't muddy (ever the optimist, me). So long as we don't have to pitch in the mud we should be ok. Worst case scenario is we get there, find it really is boggy and too wet to deal with. In that case we will cut our losses, book into a B&B for the night and come home on Wednesday!!

we to returned from Treveague yesterday, been there since the 21st, only had one good day, (tues) that was sunny all day and some rain in the morning sunny in the afternoon and rain again in the evening, sunday night was really bad with a force 10 easterly (the campsite is exposed on 2 sides east and west) and like a fool I pitched facing east so at 6am I woke to find the tent leaning with the wind a bit so had to move the car round as a wind break and ended up tying the tent to the roof rails to be honest the whole week was a bit miserable for us weather wise, plenty to do in the area though eden project especially good, lost gardens of helligan even interesting for a non gardener like myself, went to Looe, Polperro, Fowey, mevagissey, Truro and St Austell (60's concrete horror of shopping center only thing going for it is a bloody excellent brewery) and Liskeard err what a dump and other places, some nice pubs in the area too.
We have been at st austell this weekend (not far from mevaggissy) and yesterday and today have been absolutely beautiful. Our pitch that as very wet when we arrived on Friday was bone dry when we left today!
Word of warning to any who plan to be in the Mevagissey area for two weeks from 18th August.....pack your wellies, kagouls and snorkels coz.....I'm there. Which is almost a guarantee for wet weatherWHY do I still go back there year after year......coz I LUB ITNot particularly the wet weather but the place.
We have just today returned from Treveor farm, had a brilliant 11 night staay, wet at first but latterly good. Excellent coastal walks, cant wait to go again. We walked through the campsite at treveague last week it was very wet but these places dry very quickly.
