Just got back from Cornwall, the weather wasn't too bad, yes it rained but when the sun came it it was very nice. Probably had more dry intervals than wet.
So anyone thinking of going down there don't be put of by the weather forcast, we had a great time and going back late August.
Where I stayed at Perran Springs, the pitches were in very good condition considering the weather. Although i did find out they have drainage throughout the site, so I guess that helps them a lot
There are also a number of good days out when the weather isnt so great - Eden Project for example, Truro, St Ives and many more...
Anyway, I've posted this as Ive read a few posts that indicate people are worried about the weather conditions, all I can say is that while the rest of the UK was in floods, Cornwall escaped.

Most of the South West has NOT had the rain other parts of the Country have had. Today is lovely & sunny and the forcast for the next couple of days is good with only rain on Saturday night

It's OK down here today. Supposed to be good tomorrow, but tipping down again on Sunday (well it wouldn't be summer if it didn't rain would it?!). Forecast for Mon/Tues next week is great, so make the most of it everyone!
Maybe we're gonna get a summer after all? Long may it continue...........until the end of October please!

No it flippin' doesn't!!!!!! It suffers from wind and rain which has come at full tilt and unfettered 3000 miles across the Atlantic and sea fog that hangs around those headlands for days on end.
I still love the place to bits and go as often as I can especially to the West Penwith area but I never go there optimistic that I'm going to enjoy great weather.

Hi Kernow In all my holidays in Cornwall I have only once had good weather for more than a day or two, even on our honeymoon 37 years ago it rained everyday in August.
Still love it though and we keep going back, but we did have good weather in Bude 5 years ago for a day or two!!!!
If we go again we will pop in to the pub and if the weather is good we will buy you a pint!!!!!

The sun always shines in Cornwall, well it did`nt when we were there the last week in June and first week in July. We were on the C&CC site at Bodmin, we visited all the resorts Bude, Newquay, Sennen Cove, Lands End, and more, but it rained heavy every day on site
We have just got back from two weeks at Trevornick and can echo this. The first week 14 - 21st was great weather, hardly any rain at all in the daytime (rained at night though) albeit quite windy - get those deltas out. You could see the bad weather in land, so Holywell Bay must be a bit of a sun trap. Last week wasn't as good but we still got on the beach most days as it tended to clear up after lunch time. Thursday was the worst day - rain and wind - but again it brightened up sufficiently in the afternoon but still very windy.
For all you disbelievers ...........................
It's gloroius down here today!!!!
The sun does shine everyday down here - sometimes it's just hidden by the rain & cloud!!!!!!!
