we are looking at Anglesey ourselves for around the similar time? We stayed at Home Farm last year and it really is a lovey site and we used it as a base to explore the rest of anglesey, and although we went to a different beach each day over our ten day break, we still didn't see them all.
There is so much variety. We went to Benllech this year (do you remember that sun we had earlier in the year?) and stayed on a site there which was very nice. But for us personally, Benllech seems a bit touristy. The beach is big but busy and there are ice cream vans, greasy spoon cafe, toilets, beach toys for sale, etc, etc, etc, but if you wish to explore further afield there are a whole variety of beaches out there, each one with something different.
I don't think it really matters as to the location of the site you choose, as the island is really so small that you can go from one side to the other in no time at all. Just check out the wind direction and choose the direction in which to drive. In no time at all you are somewhere beautiful.
We are looking for a site that has clean showers and loos, a field to play in with some trees surrounding for shelter and for the kids to den build in, maybe or maybe not a little shop and nothing more. As an added bonus a site next to the beach would be amazing. Anybody any suggestions?

There area three sites in Rhosniegr, two I can recomend, Shoreside and Bodfan farm, I prefer the latter and its a little harder to find but its up Sandy lane, there is another called Ty Hen but I haven't stayed there....
how big a site do you want, there is a small site in caergeiliog,it isnt listed anywhere,a small farm site, run by a lovely old couple, only has 1 toilet and a outbuilding for your water,no electric.we stayed there before we moved here, now live a mile away, and we still go there to air our stuff before going anywhere,or would this be too quiet.personally i would stay away from the east side of the island.

We have managed to book at a site on the north east coast at Yfronydd camping and caravan site Bodorgan. If any one has stayed here recently could you please give some information on the site as when we booked we were told that the only pitches left were on a slight slope and we are a bit concerned as we have quite a large tent 4mtr x 5mtre and dont want to tip off the camp beds' ie " side on across the slope " . Any information would be appreciated regarding pitch sizes and thank you all for your replies and help .

Bodfan Farm in Rhosneigr gets our vote every time. We've been going for years. first in a campervan, then Tent, now onto our third van. All our kids learnt to ride their bikes there and surf at Cable Bay (just down the road in Abberfraw.) We know Alwyn, the bloke who owns it, all our family go now and most of our friends.
The loos are old as are the showers, but VERY VERY clean.
The kids run all day, play in the dug up sand dune at one end of the top field. Bike ride around all the site, 2 and a bit fields. They have their Bodfan friends (as they call them) who they see only on hol. We spend hours in the rock pools on the beach and walking over the dunes in Abberfraw.
We started going with a my OH best mate took us there. He's been going since before he was born and goes 4 times a year. Can't get a better recomendation than that!!
If you go....tell Alwyn the "Wilsons" from Castleford say hello"
