Please can anyone tell me how far away the paddock area (tent) is away from the EHU (trailer tent) pitches ? Two parties are going here and we were wondering how far apart we'd be as they have advised we wont be together.
Thanks in advance
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Hi Chris,we use this site at w/e's as it's not far from where we live and it's great for the kids when "Magic Mike" is on in the bar area.
We have an SV8 and have never had a problem.Saw a tent which i'm pretty sure was what you have with a canopy once when we were there and they had(were given) plenty of room so i don't think it will be to much of a problem. They do ask what size you have when you book but i don't know wether there is an extra charge for the large tents.
As for the original query there is a place for a few non EHU tents above that paddock which is closer to the EHU pitches which we did manage to get our group into once(it was quieter at the time though). If you arrive early you mght get put there as pitches are supposed to be allocated on arrival. The women there tried her best to put us seperately even though the site was empty and when we pointed this out she insisted we were arguing with her but we were put together in the end much to her displeasure i'm sure.
Flower of May is one of several sites I have earmarked for August 18th, but am waiting on weather before booking somewhere. It might even be a case of ringing the sites on the Friday afternoon before leaving Sat morning. Easily pleased eh? The kids are young enough (4 and 22 months) not to be that bothered where we go :):)
Ihave been going to Flower of May for going on 30 years, the ehu tent pitches are 6m x6m and are arranged in avenues, one avenue for the tents with electric hook ups runs by the side of the path which goes to the paddock so may be you could get the trailer tent in that area then it would be nearer for you. The warden that is their now is nowhere as helpful as the previous warden who left two years ago.
All in all a great site. Magic Mike is grat and also Dave Marshall who is normally on Sundays and Tuesdays.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
