We're going on Saturday for a week 4 adults and 2 small children so most of the stuff I will suggest is child based, sorry.
I googled things to do in Tenby and it came up with loads of things even an aquarium that I didn't know was there. And a friend of ours that caravans down there most of the year suggested going into the tourist info office and picking up some free books and papers they have there with everything in order of mileage from Tenby.
We're going to Folly Farm yet again!! We must go twice a year at least, lol.
The dinosaur park and small holdings farm near by that, the Crystal Maze, and Oakwood After Dark (£10 after 5pm open until 10pm, with most rides open, live entertainment and fireworks). Of course we're doing the beaches and things, but the girls prefer being entertained and going around places rather than sitting on a beach as one of them has a sand phobia, :o)
we went last year it was fantastic, just down from tenby small place called wisemans bridge quiet & lovely saundersfoot is nice. pembroke castle is well worth a visit, fresh water east is very pretty too, hope you enjoy it.
lol and I'll keep an eye out for you too, the weather supposed to me amazing next week, so if you see two crazy screaming women, chasing two crazy kids follwed by two moaning minnie men, thats us, lol.
Hi,
Just got back from a long weekend in Tenby & all I can say is its really lovely & I can't wait to go back! The beaches in Tenby were brilliant thats all the kids wanted to do, Folly Farm was a whole day out (courtesy of Tesco clubcard vouchers ) but be warned lots of rides needed tokens as well as paying to get in (ok for us as we got in for free but it could quickly add up). The multi storey carpark (follow signs) was very reasonable £1.60 all day free after 5.30pm always parking available & a short walk to town & beach. Lots of nice places to eat out & good fish & chip takeaway , Sommerfield supermarket next to carpark. Had to be towed off our pitch due to mud but thats another story!!
Have a lovely time, looks like the sun will be with you (we weren't quite so lucky)
A trip to the Caldey island is lovely if its a nice day, take a picnic and you can spend the day walking rounds the island, the beach their was amazing its so blue you would think you were abroad , you get the boat from tenby habour ,ps tenby is my favourate place any were in the country, you will have a great time.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Wiseman's Bridge has a dog friendly pub serving food on the beach front and Pembroke Castle is dog friendly. Also Carew Castle & Tidal Mill and Carew Inn (opposite castle, lovely food, stunning puddings) are both dog friendly.
Living about 15 miles from tenby I can assure you the area is beautiful. There are many things to do, depends on what you like. If you like walking, walk around Bosherton Lilly ponds down to the beautiful Broadhaven (South) beech, or park at Stackpole Quay and walk to Barafundle Bay - voted in the worlds top 10 by readers of the Guardian. Don't just do the Tourist/kiddy beeches, go to Freshwater West and places for that more rugged appeal.
The islands are superb, Caldy with it's monastry and monks, Skomer with it's Puffins, there are many others. Go to Narberth for the slightly more Chic artistic feel - (do go to the deli there and have one of the nicest Creme brulees I have ever had anywhere!). Go to Cresswell quay and sit at one of the cheapest pubs, watching the river. Just ask! Oh yes, Pembroke Castle is nice too. Folly farm is great for adults and kids - though it is certainly better with sprogs in tow.
One thing though. if you are looking for really good shopping at large stores, forget it. The nearest M&S is about 40 miles away and even that is small. We don't do big up here.
If you like cooking, get local sauages and steaks from the butchers. Most around here still take pride in their local produce
Blimey, have I really written all that? I've been up here 3.5 years now and no way would I go back...
If you want to see some local pics, go to my website, look under Locale, and there is some there.
For a change you could try a day out in north Pembrokshire, you would think you were in a different country. You will hear Welsh spoken and it's equally as beautiful as the south (although I love the Tenby area). Try Newport beach where you can take your car, go to Cenarth and see the coracles, go to the Preseli hills.
The north is indeed different, it is like comparing north and south cornwall.
The Guan valley is breath taking. Strumble Head is rugged and beautiful, you often see porpoises and seals there. The blue lagoon is stunning.
If you want a really different evening, with nice but basic food, go the the Tafarn Sinc pub in Rosebush, in the Prescelli mountains. There is sawdust on bare boards for the floor, lovely old antiques everywhere, and welsh is the main language, but yes they do speak in english to you! It's an old railway staion with a zinc roof, excellent.
Sorry, one more (heehee) There is an Iron age fort that has bee recreated on it's exact site, in the north of the county. It is a fascinating couple of hours and the guides are very good. worth a visit if you're up that way for both kids and adults. They usually get the kids doing things for a hour while a guide show the adults around in more detail.
Sorry, as you can see I love it up here - as do most people who visit the area.

Forgot about the Gwaun valley, it is lovely. We had our summer holidays 3 years running back in the 60s at Brynberian. Have a great photo of me and little bro at Pentre Ifan (that's a cromlech if anyone is interested).

I'd second that as a good place to visit. It's called Castell Henllys (and it's dog friendly)
You have to visit Marloes Sands and if you follow the beach to the right and go round the rocks you can explore a shipwreck. We went horse riding at Nolton Cross a few years back and that was lovely aswell. There's also a wildlife park that is nice called something with Manor in the title and there is a castle near to it.
Wish I could holiday there every year I enjoy it there so much. Have a fantastic time.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
