Well It's finally here...... The Searcy family annual holiday to Cornwall, and to be honest I can't wait, even Paddy the dog is sensing that we are going somewhere nice. This year we are all going to Sun Haven Valley at Mawgan Porth, Has any body been there? Or will any body be there for the next 2 weeks, if so look for the Derby County flag, and come and say hello.

Not stayed there in the van but know the area well from holidays when the kids were little, used to stay at B & B between Porth and Newquay. Hope you have a great time,
Whereabouts in Derbyshire are you? we are at Belper and the OH is a rams fan plus sis is a match steward,
Ayup Jane H and Andy. Answer to your questions: We are from Spondon, The home of the famous " Pong " Although it doesn't smell much now days! Seriously it's not a bad place to live. And Mawgan Porth is further up the coast than Holywell Bay. Newquay is slap bang in the middle of the two resorts.
Cheers, Ant.

I have seen both of these sites as we love Mawgan Porth beach but how do you get a caravan down there as the roads are soooooooooo steep

dont worry about the hills , yes there is a steep hill "downhill" aproaching mawgan porth village, but its used by all types of trafic including busses and artics, and should,nt be any trouble, the aproach to site is narow though so care is needed ,but double deckers use the same road.
site is lovely with a safe path to beach, also some of those wooden picnic benches scattered around, which you have to look for a spare one and cary it to your pitch.
this was ideal when we had a fortnight with motorbike and tent.
beach nice with public toilets, pasty and snack shop and a great pub.

Do you know which pitch is number 11 as I've looked at the aerial picture on google maps to try and get an idea of where we'll be but it don't go that close in (just trying to work out which way I'm gonna get the van in, too used to just driving onto a pitch on all the rallies we've been going on lately)

Don't think you'll be driving onto the pitch, it's a VERY small site, I was really surprised first time we went. But that is more than made up by the fantastic site, position and the people - you'll see what I mean.
I've looked at the site on Google Maps, and I THINK that pitch 11 MIGHT be the one to the immediate right of the entrance. If it is, there's a fair amount of space in front to get into position. No matter what, if you turn up when Lesley and Brian(the owners) are around, they're sure to help you out.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
