We are looking for a site within 4-5 hours drive of Chester that we could fish at (not sea fishing) that also holds the possibility of gentle canoeing and has EHU. We would be looking for somewhere that has a lake with lots of fish in (relatively easy for my young son)?? We're not fussy on amenities nearby - we like quiet and rural. We would be looking to camp at the mid to end of October.
Any help with my (probably) extrememly tall order will be greatly appreciated. Have tried a search but doesn't bring canoeing and fishing up together - maybe because it's not possible!

Ooo - this is something that we WILL be able to offer very soon! We have just built (dug) two lakes, one will be for fishing and one for 'playing' in. They are full (of water) but not ready yet. I believe we have to wait about 18 months before we can stock the fishing lake, to let is settle and then stock in the Autumn. We shall be top of the list one day though! KatieB
The only site that comes to mind that has fishing + water sports i.e. jet skis boats etc is at Brandsburton near Hornsea it is part of the Fosshill fishing complex on Cattic lane but i cant remember the exact name of the site
Glan Llyn - just outside Bala. We were there last year. It's bang on the lake. No idea what it is like for fishing, but was obviously good for things like yatching and canoeing as loads of people had boats. Whats more no boats with engines are allowed on the lake (apart from a patrol boat), so you aren't going to be bothered that small, element that think that the faster they go the better.

Yr site looks very nice, might have to book a trip sometime next year I think..
