Hi there

First wanted to say what a great site this is, i only found it the otherday and crikey is it full of information.

I'm hoping some of you might be able to help me. I'm trying to take my father on a camping holiday. As he's not had a holiday in about 6 years. My only problem is cost, my dad is retired and due to health i don't work either. However i determined to get him out of the house and some clean fresh air in his lungs.

As i live in Sheffield i'm looking for some where around the south yorkshire region. Bridlington, skegness, peak district ect. If anyone has a suggestion, i'd be awefully greatful.

Thanks

Hi, and welcome. There is a site called Greehills just outside Bakewell which is nice, but I don't know the prices. One of the best ways of finding cheaper sites is to join the Camping and Caravan Club, costs £30 odd a year and then you can stay on their certificated sites (CS). Some of them have loos, showers and electric hook up (ehu) if you need these. I think over 65s can join for a lesser amount, if this applies to your dad.

I know a CS near Rotherham which is £6 a night with ehu and I think has a loo and shower.

depends on what you want from a site but we stayed here last week. Its a lovely quiet site with lots of places to visit. Has a lovely walk through woods on the site but you need your car to get out and about. We Only paid £10.50 a night for van & EHU.

I have written a review but its going through the motions and has not bee published yet. You can see some pics of the site if you click the link at the bottom of my post.
