Hi already looking for next summer as just had 2 lovely weeks in Newquay 28th july -11th Aug must of been the only weeks of summer. Anyway looking around St. Ives and looking for reports on good sites. Like the look of Polmanter and Little Trevarrack are there any other good sites in area either walking distance or on a bus route. We love to go back out in the evenings for a drink and a meal or a sr4oll around the harbour. Any advice would be appreciated as in withdrawl mood as no more camping for us until 08 for us now how sad no i feel

We might go to Ireland again as well, have our tesco vouchers. OH is from Donegal so might go back there, last time we went down south. We are also going away in the van for Christmas/ New Year, to Chester.

We were in Newquay those 2 weeks, and yes it's the only Sun we have seen this summer.
Seems so far away now ...............sat on the beach until 9pm, kids surfing the evening tide, blowing the froth off a couple of cold ones from the coolbag while the burgers were sizzling on the BBQ.............

my OH is from hilltown, south of belfast so we were thinking about the delamont site
I haven't been there but have been to some others in NI, next time we will use CLs and CS though as we are skinflints! Need to find one just over the border from Donegal, one in Fermanagh would do fine (always rains on us there though).
Try Ayr Holiday Park, St Ives - one of the best toilet/washroom blocks we've ever used, fantastic views of St Ives, direct access to the coastal path, BUT expensive!!!!
We too are planning next year already (even though we still have a week booked in September - maybe summer would have arrived by then?!). A week in Wales, a week in the Peak District and then a week in the New Forest - if all goes to plan! Researching sites tonight - on UKCS of course!

Hi, got back from Polmanter a week last saturday and am off to Little Trevarrack this Saturday.....(bit of a St Ives junkie) but I'm still already browsing for next years hols!!!
Went down a day early last time and managed to get 1 night in our little tent on Trevalagan which is about a mile and a half out of St Ives on the Zennor road. Like Polmanter & Trevarrack, Trevalgan are also serviced by the private buses into St Ives http://www.victorybuses.co.uk/timetables.html, The reviews aren't too good for Trevalgan on here (haven't submitted mine yet) but I have to say I found the staff to be perfectly friendly. Although the tents seemed a little more tightly pitched than on Polmanter (most of polmanter pitches being separated by hedges). Having said that some friends of ours stayed at Trevalgan last year in a Wynnster Mercury 9 (pretty big!) and they had a great time with no probs. Also is cheaper than the other 2.
Polmanter is still my favourite because my boys love the swimming pool but I'll let you know about Little Trevarrack in a couple of weeks.
I am busy planning our next years holidays - six weeks in France and Spain and am still looking forward to two weeks at Norwich C&CC commencing 1st. September.
Thanks Jeni my hubby likes the look of both will check reviews and then book in the early new year. probably have to toss a coin . Do they book up early for August will we have to book in January.
Don't laugh but for our holiday August 2006 at Polmanter I reserved my pitch in September 2005!!! A bit excessive I know but as I said, I'm already browsing for Summer 2008 and I haven't been on my last trip of this season yet!! (Do you think I have a problem?)
I think Polmanter start taking proper bookings and deposits around November time and they do get booked up way in advance. Having said that, my trip there the other week with my sisters & kiddies was booked on a whim a few weeks before as they posted it as a cancellation on their website but I was lucky enough to have the luxury of not minding when I went.
I booked next weeks hol to Little Trevarrack around easter time I think and it appears they don't book up so fast because when Polmanter state on their website that their pitches are fully booked they quite often refer you to a link to Little Trevarrack who may have pitches available (both sites are owned by members of the same family I understand).
Will let you know more about Trevarrack when we get back.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
