Hi I have just decided to go to the lakes on friday (a bit late I know) I am taking my small tent ,the kids and dog and dont require electric hook up ..does anyone know where would be the best place to find a pitch at this late notice (maybe a site with a big overflow field??) thanks in advance........

Try Low Wray or Great Langdale (both near Ambleside) they are national trust sites and its a turn up on the day site. However having spoken to the site earlier this week they said they expect to be fully booked early. If no look there then try Fisherground again they do not take bookings.
