Off walking again soon, and am to be based in Keswick this time.  Which site is the best please.

Hi Stu ,some lovely walks there .

We need to go back as there were so many we wanted to do !

Dont miss the lake walk ,but its best done backwards ,start at keswick walk to the end of the walk and start there ( most older walking guides advise doing it that way around )

We stayed st the C&CC site and were not too impressed but it was a good base for the walks

I have camped on most of the sites around Keswick and in my opinion the C&CC site is the best.  You are just minutes from the town centre, the bus station and the lake, so whether you are going out walking or shopping you don't need to use the car, saving quite a bit on car park charges.

Hi Stu, we recently visited The Lake District for the first time and found it to be stunning - definately on our list of places to return to. We stayed at Gill Head Farm near Troutbeck which wasnt too far from Keswick.
