Being quite new to camping we only camped once last year at castlerigg farm in keswick/lake district and that was a great 1st experience. We tried to get the over the bank holiday just gone but it was full. Which we are now glad about because we stayed at Hollows farm in grange-in-barrowdale(just outside of keswick). This was a great site & we will return again & again. The kids loved it to. It has a lake at the bottom which you can take your dingy & theres loads of walks around there.
Hi ,we like the look of this site and are hoping to stay tere next year .Did you camp at the bottom of the lane right next to the lake ? there was a small clearing there with only a few tents ,looked ideal :)
Its a nice site, pub doing food five minutes away and its beside a shollow river, the city centre is within a one mile walk, and there is plenty to see and do there.
Would also recommend the C & CC site at Devizes in Wilts. yet again a pub within a five minute walk that does food. This site is beside the Avon and Kennet canal, and a one mile walk along the towpath is another pub that does excellent food. Also there are a few locks to look at along the way.
There is also a bus stop outside the site, with a bus service that runs into Bath. Close by in Devizes is the Caen Hill locks (28 of them) fantastic feat of engineering
I have just returned from an excellent holiday (1week) to a lovely little campsite just outside Redruth (Porthtowan). It has only just been opened about 2months ago and would definately reccomend it. It would be suitabel for anyone who enjoys a quite break away (as has no club house or entertainment).
The owners could not do enough for you.
The meadow field where we were pitched was very spacious and brillaint/spectacular views over countryside (even though it was about 2.5 miles from beach.
They have made this site clean and the toilet facilities excellent (3 showers, 3 toilets and 1 cubicle for washing) 1 disabled toilet and a washing up area with 4 sinks. Thehot water is included in the price. They have a launderette room with 2 washing machines and 2 tumble dryers (the washing powder and softener is feed through from the back of the machines to reduce the amount of rubbish caused through boxes etc...) and only for £4.00!!

Hi Helen! What was the name of this site, please? Cheers, MT
------------- Tackling life the Western District way
We have just had a weeks stay on the loveliest site, it was a c.l.site in Yorkshire, not in the camp site search and though I always put sites on if they are not on and leave a review, this time I am afraid I am keeping this one to my self.
Sorry but it was the quietest, most scenic, beautiful site I have stayed on and the showers were so clean and excellent.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
my favourite at the moment is whitby holiday park as we are new to motorhoming love this sites position as can walk into whitby the views are amazing and steep walk down to private beach great for kids and dogs there is a club house but we have never been in yet we even went for one night as think its easier than getting parked in whitby
