Can anyone recommend a campsite in or near Clacton or Frinton? , preferably open all year. I`m not too worried about facilities as its only going to be for somewhere to sleep while I visit my son but a shower would be nice. Cheers

This one seems to be open all year, but you need to be a C&CC member. I think its close to Thorpe le Soken station.

theres one at weeley (5 miles from frinton) can't remeber the name ill try and find out for you.

Hi,  there is this one http://www.homesteadlake.co.uk/  which is part of a caravan sales /service center http://www.homesteadcaravans.co.uk/.  Not stayed there but may be worth checking out.   Hope this helps, David.

We tried this one in the end and it was brilliant. Very basic but cheap , quiet and out of the way. Exactly what I wanted. Thanks for the tip off

I'm thinking of the same one as Carpman, I think.  Just off the mainroad at Weeley, near to a place called Rainbow Nurseries, think it's a CL site, so don't know what you actually get there.    Must say the site at Thorpe le Soken sounds great, can't believe we've missed that one.  Won't say anything to OH about it, or he'll get stressed and think we'd sneak another visit to the Mother in Law in!!
