Hi there,
I live in West Yorkshire and neither my partner or I drive. If anybody could let us know of camp sites that are accessible by public transport that would be great. We are willing to travel to Lake District e.g obviously not too far if just for the weekend.
Thanks
Angela

Dear Angela, have you seen YCP York Caravan Park? - obviously not in the Lake District, but you said that you are from West Yorkshire and didn't want to travel far.....
You can get the train to York railway station, then the 'Yorkshire Coastliner' bus goes every 30 mins from there to directly outside the site. It takes about 15mins with all the stops and traffic.
For reviews, click on the following link, and for prices and further information, click on the "W" - this will take you to our website. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=6567
Hope this is close enough for you!
Regards
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
That caravan park that you recommended is no good for me. As I said in my first message neither my partner or I drive so we will be camping. That site has no tent pitches.
Thanks again anyway.
Angela

Hi Andrew,
Do I feel stupid I was looking at the wrong caravan site. Please accept my apologies. I must have been having a senior moment.

Serenity Caravan & Camping Park in North Yorks is a nice one - if you can get yourselves to Whitby it's 8 miles North of there, the bus from Whitby stops right by the site entrance

Hi midget gem - Serenity is on this website listing if you want to check it out. We stayed there in May and were very impressed. It's predominantly adults though they do accept a few children, but they don't allow ball games, kite flying or anything else that may spoil the enjoyment of the site for others. The owners are really friendly and helpful, there are nice views over the countryside, a very good dog walk at the end of the site, and the pub right across from the entrance does lovely meals at really reasonable prices. We were so taken with the place that it's now on our list of "sites to return to"

If you can get transport from where you live to Keswick, then the C&CC site in Keswick is only a few hundred yards from the bus station outside Booth's Supermarket.
Definately worth investigating.
