I know we are not that near but w live in Chertsey and there's a nice campsite there -C&cc I think. A couple of trains will have you to Chelsea in about an hour...
Thankyou all,the reason being is my hubby wants to take our 12 year old grandson to see his first chelsea match and i thought we could kill two birds with one stone.Havent a clue about area and transport from crystal palace or abbey wood site to the stadium so need to do a lot of homework.Forgot to say this will be a surprise for both of them if i can get it all together.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
being a Chelsea fan I have been to Stamford Bridge many times.
Your nearest tube station is Fulham Broadway (5 min walk from the stadium) and its on the District Line.
I cant help you with campsites Im afraid. We always drive to London and usually stay in the Chelsea hotel (if we're feeling "flash") or a Travelodge just outside London.
The ground is really easy to find, we usually come in from the M4/A4 direction, through hammersmith and then past Earls court. The ground is on the Fulham Road, this is a nice easy route in and out after the game. We park at The Chelsea and Westminster hospital which is a short walk from SB. So If it were me I might plump for a site on the Western outskirts of the city.
Check out the official chelsea website for any more information/directions etc.
Have a great time, your grandson will love it. Lucky boy!!

Thankyou very much chelsea girl you are a star, you have saved me loadds of timee.I hope i can get it together. Will post on here if i can. xxxx
anymore questions, please ask. I have sat in all areas of the ground, so if you need advice about seating areas, tickets, etc please just ask.
ps - If you pick a category B team (not one of the "big" teams) you'll probably get some good seats if you book in advance. They normally release to members 1st and then go on general sale at 4 tickets per person. Book early though.
Both our nephews are CFC fans and we took them both when one was 5 and the other 9. we were in the front row - and the 5 year old fell asleep!!!!! (and no - the football wasnt that boring!!!)

found these directions on the chelsea website. Also looked at the hotel prices (The Chelsea hotel at the ground) for double bed and sofa bed was £89 for 1 night, which I didnt think was bad seeing its right next to the ground!!

You don't want to go to QPR just now! Mind you, OH is going on Saturday and it now costs £27 for a ticket! Told him he won't go often. I daresay it will cost less when they are relegated.
