Hi,

Been looking at this site in a 2008 Park Guide as the central location for North/South Lakes as well as North Yorkshire appeals.

Stayed at Low Park Wood for a few night last year and whilst a good site and up to the usual CC standards it is pretty enclosed and does not lend itself well for sitting out -  weather permitting!!!!

Thinking of stopping in The Lakes for a week next summer and this looks more open plan and therefore wondered how it compares to CC Sites.

All reviews I read were for 2006 or earlier so would welcome feedback from anyone who has stayed this year.

Many Thanks

Depends upon what you are looking for, but we enjoyed our stay here in the Lake district this year.

Have you thought of Braithwaite Fold CC site at Bowness on Windermere?

Fab site (check out the reviews - including mine!), close to lake and town.

Highly recommended BUT you'll have to book early (CC online bookings for 2008 go live on Mon 5/12/07!).

Hi Crudaser2801,

Waters edge is a nice small site, it has changed a little since the website pics where put on, it now has a few statics at the top end and some near the reception end.  There are about 20 pitches for caravans along each side of the road, they are not very big, I think you wold struggle with your superstorm, we have a 475 about 21ft but there is not much pitch space left.  It is a nice site, with a small bar, which is a bonus, streams on each side of the site, clean but dated toilets.  If you do decide to go PLEASE check that your van will fit.

Good luck in finding somewhere.

Shirley
