Hi there am back from my sabbatical, as the long winter nights are nowshortening and am starting to think about getting the tin tent out and rolling again.
The missus has been BMB about going to Rossnowlagh in Co Donegal in the van this year, but all I cant seem to find are static sites, and this leads to my question does anyone know of any touring caravan accommodation in Rossnowlagh.
Your help is greatly appreciated in this matter.

I don't think there are any touring sites around Rossnowlagh. I stayed at Rosses point near Sligo last August, and apart from the constant incessant rain I had a great time. Good fishing, good Guiness...what else does a man want.
When we last toured Ireland in 2006 we stayed in a relative`s static van at the
Downings in Donegal. There are a few sites there , even .some on the beach BUT seem to be all Statics. We did see lots of vans pulled up on the roadside, some amongst the sand dunes and obviously wild camping but don`t think anyone bothered them at all.
We only stayed a week as we had come up and across from Wexford and were returning via Mayo Kerry and Cork back to Rosslare A lovely six week holiday
Lakeside caravan & camping park at Ballyshannon stayed there in 2004 nice site it,s only about 5 miles from Rossnownagh, have a look in the (ukcampsite.co.uk listing).

As said, there is a site at Downings that takes tourers, although it is mainly a static site. There is also one at Crolly, a bit inland but central, 1 at Rosbeg and at Portnoo, near Ardara. Rosbeg is lovely, right on the coast, great beaches and good fishing, both at sea and on the lakes. OH comes from there so know it well, it's a tiny place, has a pub/restaurant but no shops, the nearest shop is Morgan's on the road to Portnoo.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
