looking at booking one weeks camping in north yorkshire this year, never been there before. Basically we are loking for recomendations on a good site (quiet, allows dogs, can keep a 7 year old entertained).
We shall be tenting so if anyone can recommend a site that would be great.
thanks
john
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
if you do a search putting in all your requirements, it will give you a list of sites. we have a van but have stayed in a few lovely sites as we are more or less in north yorkshire, there are a few around the harrogate/thirk area but not sure how many are year round, but if you do the search im sure it will help you. (or even a google search - we have found a few lovely sites by doing this)
Brilliant site, with good facilities, playground etc for kids (we also have a 7 yr old who loves it there).
They have a separate area for tents, with or without EHU, and a seperate dog walking area.
They even have a small pool (75p).
The showers are spotless, and are cleaned regularly, and there is the usual potwash / laundry etc.
Its about 3 miles from Knaresborough / Harrogate and about 12 from Ripon. Ripley village is about 10-15 minutes stroll (along a footpath) with some small shops and a pub.

I agree, Corni - we were staying in a cottage near Brimham Rocks in October and it was fantastic - our kids loved it and would have gone every day! I had never heard of them before but it was really good fun.
We live south of the Humber about half an hour if that from Hull and we go up into North Yorkshire loads. We love it up there. We go alot onto the moors and the coast Whitby and Scarborough are good both have alot of sites. We do the moors as well and f or a quiet site i would recomend Rosedale Abbey (Flowers of May) and this summer I hope to try Spiers at Cropton very very nice area.
if you go john. a must see place is BRIMHAM ROCKS it's fantastic.
i will definitely go back to have another look at brimham.
