Looking to go up to Scotland last week of August and not really sure where to go??
ideally would like, caravan next to lake, views of mountains, good clean toliets and showers, play area for 7 year old, ideally walking distance to village / pub or short drive and a good base for 7 days to sample some of scotland. taking father in law with us (virgin caravanner and bit like victor meldrew - so needs to be good)
looked at loch lomond, and am a member of both caravan club abd camping and caravan club. looked at sites "Luss " and Milarrochy Bay sites and both are favourite so far.... so if anybody can help me please advise.
Thanks

Hi,
I would recommend the Luss site. It a beautiful site with great views of Loch Lomond. The village of Luss is a very pretty conservation village and only a stones throw away from the caravan park. There is a pub, general grocers, gift shops and cafe and a lovely restored church. There is a Hotel next door to the caravan site, which although it quite expensive to eat there it has a lovely balcony which overlooks the Loch and its great to sit there in the evening and enjoy a drink. It in a good location and Argyll and the Trossachs are within easy reach. When there we went to have a look at Milarrrochy bay for future reference and found that it was bit too far from the village for us although it a very beautiful area we like to go to the pub in the evening and its a bit too far to walk after a few pints.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
