Can anyone recommend a good touring caravan camp site in the Lake District. All the sites that we have looked at that sound really nice are either extortionate in the prices they charge per night or they won't give you a specified pitch (so that you can be pitched together) or the toilets/showers are not very good. We will be hopefully going for a week in August and are looking for a child friendly site with swings and a shop. We would also like to have a decent sized pitch. Am I asking too much? Help!!!!

Thanks for the reply Ang/Ken. Could you set my mind at rest ref the showers as the comments on uk campsite from another person were as follows "The showers however are badly organised. There are no hooks for clothes outside the cubicle and no chairs to sit on or put clothes on. There is insufficient room inside the cubicle so I had to undress outside the cubicle, and prop as many of my clothes as possible on the windowsill before going inside for my shower."
I will be honest - we used the toilets but not the showers whilst there as we have our own in the van. On arrival after having a bad experience on another site we asked about the toilets and were given the code as that we could have a look at them before booking in. We found them to be clean and tidy, however, i didnt notice about the hooks. There were sockets for hairdryers (on meters .20p) and the whole area was warm and clean. Perhaps others could comment.
