Hi all, is anyone going to Ravenglass over Easter? We haven't been there before but from reading the reviews on here I believe it's a really nice site.
We are going Fri-Tues with my S-I-L's clan. Would be nice to bump into some fellow UKCS members while we're there!

hi we stop here last summer, the site is on a slope but the pitches are level,a lot of mature trees on the site, the toilet block/showers, put all other sites to shame.fresh bread delivered every morning, lots of different makes.
no other shops in village but 2 pubs ,the one at the station does good meals, ratty arms.
la,al ratty railway worth a visit,
Whitehaven itself, good for shopping as it has a Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi, Netto, Lidl, Iceland, Argos, Woolworths, B&M Bargains, Ethel Austin, New Look etc etc and it also has HSBC, Barclays, Natwest banks among others. There is a lovely Harbour area which is worth a look around and as it is a working Harbour/dock area, thee are plenty of boats to see.
The Wetherspoons does a good lunch or evening meal and if you want fish and chips go to George`s in the Market Place, lovely fish and chips and it has a cafe upstairs. The Golden Lion cafe in the Market is also nice, OH and I go there for lunch some days when I am at work.
Just allow plenty of time the roads are twisting and a bit tight but it can be done with no major panic our problem was that we did it all in one go next time would stay just off M6 and then do the journey on to Ravenglass next day. We will go back as it it is one our favorite sites - Enjoy
Thanks Bernie, Didn't think there would be that much to do round there. We should have gone for 2 weeks to fit every thing in!
Will try and fit the owls in though as we enjoy falconry displays etc and are members of the RSPB!
Hi Allnew, Thanks for the advice! Coast road was a bit hairy but arrived no probs! We came off M6 at Junction 36 and went via Newby bridge. S-I-L was advised to carry on further North to Junction 40 at Penrith to the A66 and approach from Whitehaven! They clocked 48 mile more than us!
