Hi all,

Have managed to talk OH into going camping next weekend (first trip of the year, woohoo!!!) We have talked about going to the lake district but were there last year and got rained out.  Looking to stay abit closer to home incase the weather takes a turn for the worse.  We stay near to Glasgow airport but do not know of any nice sites that may be within an hours drive.  Anyone know of any good sites??

Culzean Castle Camping and Caravaning Club in Ayrshire is a great site it might take a wee bit longer than an hours drive .Moffat C.&C.C site should also  take about an hour.Have not stayed at Moffat but it always gets good reports.Culzean has smashing views over to Arran and is set in the Castle's Country Park.

Only 40mins drive for you  coming over the Erskine bridge through Balloch and over the Stirling Straights. A good road all the way.
