Hi,we are going to the lakes in our caravan next Thursday night,we would like if possible to have a stay over on route,we are travelling from cheshire to Penrith.

Has anyone got any sites in mind inbetween those two locations,thats not too far off the beaten track.

Low Park Wood CC site. 10 mins off M6. alot closer than the Windermere

Then there's Tebay services at Shap. it has it's own caravan park. Ideal for an overnighter !

If you are at Shap you are basically 15 - 20 mins from Penrith so you may as well just go straight there if that`s your end destination.

Thanks for that,we just cannot get on our site until midday Friday,the idea is to get most of the driving out of the way thursday evening.

There is a site called Waters edge at Crooklands just 1 mile from junction 36, have a look on the camp site search for there number, its a small site, clean in a nice setting.

We like Fell End, couple of miles from Junction 35.  Nice site with small pub on site.
