Hi - a couple of years ago we spent some time walking on the South Downs and camped at a great site in Alfriston. Unfortunately last year the owner only opened to Duke of Edinburgh, Scouts, Guides etc. Does anyone have any recommendations for smal sites close to the Downs?

There is one that I noted for future visits, quite close to Alfriston with great views of the Downs ... can't remember it's name or the nearest town. Try searching for 'west sussex' in the campsite search facility and see what comes up?

I haven't stayed there, but Blackberry Wood sounds very nice. It's near Ditchling.
